Substances that accelerate chemical reactions are called Catalyst. The catalysis has critical rule in kinetic control over product distribution. Our research group is interested in all aspects of selective catalysis, and especially in the design, and study of systems that mediate fundamentally useful organic reactions. The search for practical and widely applicable catalysts for development of organic synthesis provides a strong driving force for our research.
Several of our projects are devoted to the development of the control of stereochemistry of the products, because of the crucial role played by the three-dimensional structure of molecules in their biological function. Asymmetric reaction has been of particular interest to us.
The following topics are currently our interested investigation:
- Asymmetric Catalysis
- Selective C- C Bond Formation and Cleavage
- Use of Organometalic Compounds as Catalysts in Organic Synthesis
- Heterogeneous Catalysis
